Overview
Mech-less audio systems are simple, widespread products incorporating USB audio functionality and a radio.
Renesas offers car audio devices optimal for such systems in the form of the 78K0 and 78K0R microcontroller (MCU) series for tuner, USB audio decoder, and display controller. In addition, the AE1-L and the AE1-LF incorporate the functions necessary for a USB audio decoder on a single chip. The AE1-L and the AE1-LF come preinstalled with the software necessary for USB control, MP3, WMA, and AAC decoding, WAV file playback, file system management, as well as the system control of these functions. Through these, USB audio can be implemented using simple commands from the microcontroller, substantially shortening development time. Renesas also offers a range of analog audio devices such as electronic volume controls and equalizers. Our products are optimal solutions for developers of mech-less audio systems.
