SH7200 Series

Overview

SH7200 Series is a set of products that feature an SH-2A CPU core. The SH-2A instruction set is fully upwardly-compatible with SH-1 and SH-2, and it also adopts new instructions such as Data Transfer Instruction and Operation Instruction. Superscalar architecture adapted for SH-2A enables the SH7200 Series to execute multiple instructions at the same time, greatly increasing its processing performance compared with the conventional SH-1 and SH-2.
In addition, SH7200 Series are equipped with equivalent modules to SH-1 and SH-2, in order to ensure smooth upgrading to SH-2A. They incorporate FPU, which support single-precision and double-precision floating-point arithmetics, enabling high-speed signal processing.
